Sterling silver objects by the silversmiths of the Cuernavaca monastery, Talleres Monasticos, are extremely hard to find and extremely desirable. I am very pleased to be offering you a dark ebony wood plaque depicting three people:  Madonna, Baby Jesus, and Joseph.  This is vintage, circa 1955. There is a hanger on the back.
The Talleres Monasticos is the workshop of a Benedictine monastery (Convente de los Padres Benecdictinos). The monks are known for producing extraordinary religious pieces in a modernist form. The monks have also sold some of their artwork through Sanborns. This piece is a true treasure!

Condition:
Fair to good vintage - the silver plaque lifts up a little from the bottom, a glue and clamp overnight would fix it - the wood is worn and could benefit from an oil polish - all corners show some wear with the bottom right corner at the front showing more chipping than the others (as shown) - I have only lightly polished the silver, you may wish to polish more
