    Description

The US Army used the M-1956 pistol belt as the basis for its new load bearing system. The pistol belt, when worn with H-suspenders, could accommodate the butt pack, sleep gear carrier, E-tool, compass/first aid pouches, canteens, and most importantly, ammo pouches. This US Army Vietnam VERTICAL WEAVE M-56 PISTOL BELT is in very good condition, with moderate fading to the "US" marking at the left front, the size and nomenclature stampings once inside having completely faded away, a bit of orangish brown spot soiling at the interior middle back, and with some light overall fading, edge nicking, and age wear evident (ALL pictured). Otherwise, the belt is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough "vertical weave" OD canvas construction. Most interestingly, it's faintly "US" marked at the left front, boasts a fully functional darkened brass "dot" front buckle, and sports all 4 of the original "stepped" darkened brass sizing keepers. A fine example of a rare, original US Army Vietnam VERTICAL WEAVE M-56 PISTOL BELT. Now celebrating over 20 years on eBay.
