Old Religious Christian Crusades? Base Relief Carved? Plaque Picture Soapstone?

Description

Here is a most interesting wall hanging that I just found in the estate of an elderly pastor.
He must have thought a great deal of it because it was hanging in a place of prominence right in the living room of his house.
This carved or cast deep relief plaque seems to depict a religious scene with scores of armored soldiers outside a castle looking at a priest or other religious figure.
I wonder if it was meant to depict the Crusades or similar, but you will have to be the best judge of that.
I don’t know if the ivory colored material is carved or cast, but I think it MIGHT be soapstone or similar.
It is heavy and dense, is about 10 inches across and has been mounted in a nickel plated half-frame or cradle (see photos).
I wish I could tell you more or that I knew exactly what the scene represents, but perhaps one of you will know and advise me.
In any event, I think it is a great look piece that I figured someone would like to have.

: The cost of mailing materials keeps going up, and I package things well (see my feedback). So, to cover some of these every-increasing costs, and as eBay allows in its rules, I must now include an additional 50-cents "handling charge" on most sales to defray my expenses.

: I am part of eBay's "Managed Payments" system. On sales to Kansas residents I will have to collect applicable sales tax.
EBay may also collect other states' sales taxes, but I have no control over that

: I DON'T END AUCTIONS EARLY, and if I didn't list it as a "Buy It Now" item then I don't intend to offer it that way, so there is no reason to ask.
If eBay has some sort of problem during this sale, I reserve the right to cancel the sale and re-list the item.
If there are props or such in the photo, they are not included in the sale (rulers, display shelves, coins to show size, mannequin heads, etc.).
