Description
Especially designed for theAmerican Directional Driller
®
to measure bottom hole assembly equipment up to 40 feet. As of release, this product is unmatched in the marketplace. This heavy-duty
40-foot tape measure has three measurement scales
on an extra wide blade. Both
engineering scale (decimal feet)
and
imperial scale (inches / feet)
are shown on the top side of the blade. The
reverse side of the blade is metric for expat or international mobile assignments
. There are 12.2 meters shown as 1,220 centimeters with highlighted markings every decimeter and meter. The smallest measurement unit shown is 100
ths
of feet, 16
ths
of inches, and 1 millimeter. This tape measure is Class II.
Fast and efficient retraction at longer lengths and more reserved retraction at shorter lengths –
but hey that’s how springs work
! This one is optimized for both short and long extensions. Use the brake liberally if you do not handle big tapes often – it will also extend the life of your tape.
American directional driller
s
will appreciate the engineering scale on easy-to-read 2/3rds track-width! The remaining 1/3
rd
track width is imperial inches and feet. A handy feature is that the total inches are shown rather than restarting the inch marks every foot length. If you need a foot reference, just look at the engineering scale below.
This tape comes standard with a
grip enhancing black rubber jacket
on the
ABS plastic housing
to ensure maximum durability and grip at the rig site. Prolong the life of your new tape measure by keeping it both clean and dry. While it may be convenient, we recommend not throwing the tape measure off the 25-foot high drill floor.
The end of the tape has a
double claw
for grabbing onto the drill pipe shoulder. No magnets in the claw since they are generally forbidden at the rigsite.
