1950s Vintage 24" American Character Sweet Sue Sophisticate
The doll is marked "AMERICAN CHARACTER DOLL CORP" on the
back of her neck.
Her torso and limbs are made of hard plastic but her head is vinyl.  She is strung and has a twist waist.  She has clear blue sleep eyes that open and close properly with full upper brush lashes. She retains her painted lower lashes, painted eyebrows and lots of cheek blushing.  She even still has her painted fingernails.
The doll wears a flower accented horsehair "straw" hat and
a lovely white and light pale blue chiffon dress, with a pink taffeta slip with tulle ruffled trim. The dress has a blue velvet bow at the neckline with a rhinestone and a pink sash that ties in the back.
This dress is really beautiful even in its dusty condition.
It seems to need to be cleaned and I can't imagine how nice & bright it will be when cleaned. If you know how to care for this lovely chiffon and retain the blue and light pink colors in the ribbon and the sash that ties around her waist, you'll have an amazing doll for display.
Her brown faux suede sandals have heels.  The elastic straps need some repair.  When she wears her sandals, which have heels, she is able to balance and stand without a doll stand.  Without the sandals, she will need a doll stand.
In addition to normal doll joints she is also jointed at the waist, which can swivel, and at the ankles.
I have photographed her just as I found her.  Her history of repair or past environments is unknown.
I have not noticed offensive odors.
My home is smoke free, but I do not know the doll's previous home environment.  She has been in my home for a brief stay only.
** Item is NOT mint. I have tried to photograph her from all sides with her wardrobe and without.  I'm only allowed 12 photos on Ebay.

I have mentioned flaws that I have noticed but I'm not an expert so there may be others.  Ask questions about what's important to you that I did not show in photos or mention in the description.  I will answer if I can. I don't guarantee that I will know but I try.

SHIPPING
Doll is packaged very carefully.  She is wrapped in tissue paper before and then bubble wrap.  Bubble wrap will be lightly sealed with scotch tape so that you do NOT have to use scissors to unwrap the doll. I then use packing peanuts around the doll to cushion her within the box.
The buyer's name MUST be the name on the shipping label.  -
(I do not do
"in care of" type of labels using
C/O or CO).  If a name appears on the address different than the name of the buyer, I may cancel the order.
Signature may be required upon delivery.
